Take Action - Conviction Integrity Unity Petition
Together we can deliver a new era of justice in New Orleans.
Jason needs your voice to help strengthen the call for real reform and change.
Louisiana leads the nation in exonerations of innocent individuals that were wrongfully convicted. Since 1989, 65 people have lost 950 years of their lives before they were exonerated in our state, according to the National Registry of Exonerations.
In sum, the focus of our recent string of lead prosecutors and many in law enforcement has been quantity over quality, and many in our city have been unlawfully imprisoned because of it.
If elected DA, Jason will permit the review of cases in which guilty verdicts were rendered by non-unanimous juries, establish a more robust and independent Conviction Integrity Unit in partnership with Innocence Project New Orleans and other stakeholders in New Orleans to provide for case review outside of the more costly litigation context.
